Iftaa – Advanced Study of Jurisprudence (Males Only)
“And those who have knowledge among you, let them give judgment according to it.” (Qur’an 4:59)
Darul Uloom Canada presents the Iftaa Program – A two year selective program designed for graduates of the Alimiyyah course who aspire to serve the Muslim community as skilled Muftīs. This program develops the ability to research, analyze, and issue Islamic legal opinions (fatwas) for both classical and contemporary issues. Under the tutelage of Mufti Husain Ahmad Badri
Students engage deeply with usul al-fiqh (legal theory), qawa’id al-fiqh (legal maxims), usul al-ifta’ (principles of fatwa), and derivative rulings, while learning to navigate modern challenges with ethical, balanced, and context-sensitive guidance. Through rigorous exercises and case studies, students gain confidence in addressing questions across worship, family law, finance, medicine, and societal concerns.
Fees: $200/month ($2,400/year)
Financial assistance is available for eligible students. No student will be denied admission to the Iftaa program due to financial hardship or inability to pay tuition fees
Darul Uloom Canada maintains high academic and spiritual standards. Admission into the program does not guarantee continuation or graduation unless students consistently meet the required expectations in academics, conduct, attendance, and personal development. Students are regularly evaluated throughout the year and provided guidance regarding their progress.
Applications are now open for the upcoming academic term. Limited spaces available. All applicants will be interviewed prior to confirmation of admission.
