When I first came to Madrasah, my dream was to inspire Muslim youth the same way I had been inspired by visiting scholars in my community — not just through words, but through action — to become leaders both on the court and on the Musallah. This institution shaped that vision in ways I could never have imagined. Through the guidance and duaas of my teachers, the discipline of the Qur’an, and the brotherhood that fills these halls, I found the confidence to bring that same passion and energy into every arena of life — whether in sports, da‘wah, or community work. Darul Uloom Canada helped turn a dream into direction — from chasing success on the court to striving for success in the sight of Allah.

Growing up in Canada, i couldn't have imagined becoming closer to Deen here. From being inspired by my local Imam and getting introduced to his teachers of this Institute. I became drawn to seeking ilm by them and to witness the Sunnah being embodied. As I journeyed away from home, the transition was made easy with the amenities found on Darul Uloom Canada campus. From an indoor high school gymnasium, fitness facility, swimming pool to a commercial equipped kitchen serving meals (to name a few). After graduation, I find myself returning often, despite the distance. How could I not, when this school and its people have shaped who I am?

Attending Darul Uloom Canada has had a lifelong, positive impact on my life. Caring for students in a boarding environment is no small task, yet the teachers and staff tirelessly worked to make sure every student felt supported and comfortable so we could fully focus on our studies, all while ensuring we excelled academically and received an exceptional education. Not only were we taught from textbooks, but we were also given practical advice and real-life training that prepared us for the world beyond the classroom. What makes this school truly special is that the support doesn’t end at graduation; the teachers remain connected and offer guidance long after students leave. It is truly by Allah's grace that I was blessed to attend such a school.

To say the least, my first and last impressions of Darul Uloom are very different. When I first arrived, I didn’t have much enthusiasm to be here and thought it would just be a short stop in life. But as the years passed, through the care and support of my teachers, I began to appreciate Darul Uloom for what it truly is and to develop a deeper value for my Deen. I will never forget the amazing friendships and incredible experiences I had throughout my time here. I feel truly honored to call Darul Uloom my home, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I graduated as a hifz student from Darul Uloom and am now honoured to be in my final year of the Alimiyyah program Alhamdulillah. Although this might sound like an achievement, this isn't even half of what I've benefited from this institute. Darul Uloom has shaped me as a person in a multitude of ways, from being a little hifz kid to now, Alhamdulillah, being close to graduating. Seeing the effect that Darul Uloom has had not only on the students, but on Chatham as a community, is close to unheard of. More than half the Muslims in this community are, without a doubt, only here because of Darul Uloom. As of now, Chatham continues to be my residence, but moving forward, wherever studies take me, I hope I can continue to be connected to my amazing teachers at Darul Uloom, and continue to benefit from them.
